The course was the way in. Now it is the website.
On 1 August 2026 the requirement for the Swedish introduktionsutbildning was removed. Supervisor status remains — you still apply to Transportstyrelsen — but the course is no longer mandatory. The government proposition (2025/26:127) describes it as driving schools losing "en lika naturlig kontaktyta mellan trafikskolor och den blivande föraren" — an equally natural point of contact between driving schools and the future driver. The course was the moment the student and the parent came through the door before buying anything. From now on, the website is often the first meeting.

THE TEXT NO LONGER HOLDS
Pages describing the introductory course as a requirement became incorrect on 1 August 2026. They risk sending away a parent who would otherwise have called you.
It is not carelessness. Nobody rewrites their website the same week a rule changes. But whoever searches today reads the text that is up today.

When the course is no longer mandatory, the occasion where student and supervisor showed up in person disappears. The website takes over part of that work: explaining what applies now, what you offer, and how to take the next step.
